The McEwen Warriors will head out on the road to take on the McKenzie Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
McEwen stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They breezed by Big Sandy at home to the tune of 70-28. Given McEwen's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 189th, while Big Sandy is ranked 404th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, McKenzie entered their tilt with Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. McKenzie claimed a resounding 85-51 victory over Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central on the road. McKenzie's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
McEwen's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3. As for McKenzie, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
McEwen came up short against McKenzie in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 81-71. Can McEwen avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
