The Princeton Bulldogs had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 45-36 win over Raleigh Charter on Wednesday. The victory was just what Princeton needed coming off of a 53-32 defeat in their prior contest.
Princeton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aubrey Johnson out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Johnson has scored at least a third of Princeton's points. Another player making a difference was Meredith Bell, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Princeton's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-6. As for Raleigh Charter, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Princeton will square off against Eastern Wayne at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Eastern Wayne will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Raleigh Charter on the road again on Tuesday and play against Falls Lake at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Falls Lake is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
