Maple Mountain is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Salem Hills, who was ranked first at the time (Maple Mountain was ranked 21st). The Eagles lost 8-2 to the Skyhawks on Tuesday. The matchup marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Navey Lindsay was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Halle Mckinlay, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
This is the second loss in a row for Maple Mountain and nudges their season record down to 11-4. As for South Sevier, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.
Saturday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Maple Mountain hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .329. However, it's not like South Sevier struggles in that department as they've averaged .340. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Maple Mountain couldn't quite get it done against South Sevier in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 as they fell 9-6. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
