The Logan Grizzlies will venture away from home to challenge the Sky View Bobcats at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Logan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
Logan will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Ridgeline, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Grizzlies came out on top against the Riverhawks by a score of 5-1 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Grizzlies.
Cambree Cooper spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Emma Bracken was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Miley Allen was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.
Logan hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive matches.
Sky View came out on top against Roy on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run second inning. The Bobcats walked away with a 13-8 victory over the Royals. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Avaree Haramoto was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Haramoto was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Micali Harvey, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Rylie Beckstead also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Sky View has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-13 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Logan, their record now sits at 13-11.
Logan came out on top in a nail-biter against Sky View when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 5-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Grizzlies since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
