Norview is 10-0 against Maury since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Norview Pilots will look to defend their home court against the Maury Commodores at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Norview focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Norview sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 45-43 win over Southeast Raleigh.
Leyla Minor continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Keona Mitchell, who scored 6 points along with 8 rebounds.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought match, but Maury had to settle for a 38-36 defeat against Norfolk Collegiate on Tuesday. Maury has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite their defeat, Maury saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Myla Parker, who scored 11 points along with 8 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Arianna Owens, who scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds.
Norview now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Maury, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Everything came up roses for Norview against Maury in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 68-8 win. Does Norview have another victory up their sleeve, or will Maury turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
