3A Region IV District 26 recap October 1, 2013
La Grange added to the longest winning streak in 3A Region IV District 26 this week by beating Canyon Lake, 48-28. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Leopards.
Yoakum moved up to 374 from 461 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Bulldogs were able to move up by besting Rice Consolidated 63-41.
Yoakum's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Tre'vontae Hights threw for 54 yards and Tj Hights had 39 yards receiving. On the ground Hights chipped in 224 yards. Miguel Resendiz helped Yoakum's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 25 yards.
Brent Kornegay's team's dynamic duo of Hights and Hights proved to be unstoppable against the Raiders, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Resendiz helped Yoakum's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 25 yards.
Hights was a beast in the backfield as the Bulldogs bested Rice Consolidated.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, La Grange's Dillon Davis and Wes Scott have proven to be a lethal combination. Davis has thrown for 483 yards this season, while Scott has 11 catches for 248 yards. Yoakum's Hights leads the league in rushing yards with 673.
Cuero and Ingleside played the most contested game in 3A Region IV District 26 this week, with Cuero eventually emerging with a 16-14 victory.
