The Piedmont Wildcats on the road again on Friday and play against the Capitol Hill Redwolves at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Piedmont is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Capitol Hill in Oklahoma (Piedmont is ranked 12th, while Capitol Hill is ranked 278th).
Piedmont can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Saturday. They blew past Webb City 78-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, Capitol Hill's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by Mustang 112-43. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Capitol Hill has suffered since December 1, 2023.
Piedmont's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Capitol Hill, they dropped their record down to 3-10 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Piedmont against Capitol Hill in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 62-26 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Piedmont since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
