A well-balanced attack led the Cranston East Thunderbolts over the Mt. Pleasant Kilties in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Cranston East blew past Mt. Pleasant 56-32. Cranston East didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.
Leading Cranston East to victory were Jayna Gunderway and Mya Jiminez. Gunderway scored 18 points, while Jiminez scored 24 points. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Jiminez has scored at least a third of Cranston East's points.
Cranston East's win bumped their record up to 5-14. As for Mt. Pleasant, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Mt. Hope the next time they take the court. Cranston East will host Mt. Hope at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Mt. Pleasant will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
