Danvers has gone a perfect 10-0 against Winthrop recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Falcons will look to defend their home field against the Vikings at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Danvers has four straight wins, Winthrop has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Monday, Danvers made easy work of Salem and carried off an 18-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won six matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Skylar Coakley was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two RBI and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

Amelia Spencer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Sofia Gonzalez, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Danvers' win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Winthrop, their loss dropped their record down to 4-16.
Winthrop's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Danvers has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.6 hits per game. It's a different story for Winthrop, though, as they've been averaging 9.4 hits. Given Danvers' sizable advantage in that area, the Vikings will need to find a way to close that gap.
Danvers took their win against Winthrop when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 16-0 score. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
