The Canyon View Falcons won the last time they faced the Manti Templars, and things went their way on Thursday too. Canyon View came out on top against Manti by a score of 51-41. The win made it back-to-back wins for Canyon View.
Leading Canyon View to victory were Maylee Spencer and Emery Miles. Spencer scored 12 points along with five steals, while Miles scored 12 points along with five blocks. Spencer is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Brooklyn Davie was another key contributor, scoring five points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Manti's loss came despite strong showings from June Olsen and Cadee Alder. Olsen scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and two steals, while Alder dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 36.6% of Manti's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Canyon View now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Manti, they dropped their record down to 7-12 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Canyon View will face off against Juab at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Juab is ranked 46th, while Canyon View is ranked 54th). As for Manti, they will be playing at home against Emery at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Emery focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Thursday.
