The Providence Academy Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the Lighthouse Christian Chargers at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Providence Academy is no doubt hoping to put an end to a 17-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Providence Academy pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Mingo Valley Christian 62-57.
Meanwhile, Lighthouse Christian managed to keep up with Mid-Missouri HomeSchool until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Lighthouse Christian suffered a tough 74-52 defeat at the hands of Mid-Missouri HomeSchool. While losing is never fun, Lighthouse Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 301st, while Mid-Missouri HomeSchool is ranked 90th).
Lighthouse Christian's defeat came about despite a quality game from Elijah Rahn, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lee Stinson, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Providence Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Lighthouse Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 14-11.
Providence Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Lighthouse Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, winning 75-64. The rematch might be a little tougher for Providence Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
