Softball Recap: Adair County Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Taylor County, Adair County was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Marion County Knights 7-6. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Indians as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Jazalynn Young spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Allee Campbell, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Keylin Bergin was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.

Adair County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 4-2 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Adair County's record now sits at 9-10. As for Marion County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Adair County will square off against Monroe County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Marion County, they will face off against Central Hardin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
