Softball Recap: J.R. Tucker Wins Going Away Against Maggie Walker

J.R. Tucker won the last time they faced Maggie Walker and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 14-6 margin over Maggie Walker. Considering the Tigers have won four matchups by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Emily Bryant made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.

In other batting news, J.R. Tucker let Aleea Cobb and Miyah Williams run wild. Cobb got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Williams got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that Cobb has snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Victoria Smith, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.

J.R. Tucker was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in four consecutive contests.

J.R. Tucker's record is now 4-8. As for Maggie Walker, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.
