The Cooperstown Hawkeyes will head out on the road to square off against the Morrisville-Eaton Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cooperstown has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Even though New York Mills scored an imposing 60 points on Friday, Cooperstown still came out on top. Cooperstown walked away with a 73-60 victory over the Marauders.
Charlie Lambert continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 27 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds. Lambert is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Cooper Bradley, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Morrisville-Eaton pushed their score all the way to 68 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 86-68 to Luther. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (62), Morrisville-Eaton still had to take the loss.
Cooperstown's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Morrisville-Eaton, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
Cooperstown strolled past the Warriors when the teams last played back in January by a score of 72-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cooperstown since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
