Tri-Valley hasn't had much luck against Tremont recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Vikings will welcome the Turks at 4:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Tri-Valley sitting on three straight victories and Tremont on four.
On Wednesday, Tri-Valley earned a 5-1 win over Fisher.
Gretchen Wyant spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Molly Vandiver, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Fesler, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, Tremont was able to grind out a solid victory over Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley on Wednesday, taking the game 4-1.
Maddie Feagin made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off eight hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Feagin wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Audrey Parn, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Tremont pushed their record up to 6-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Tri-Valley, their win bumped their record up to 10-2-1.
Tri-Valley's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's match. The Vikings have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Tremont, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Tri-Valley continue to outrun the ball?
Tri-Valley suffered a grim 11-5 defeat to Tremont in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Vikings have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
