The King's Christian Knights will challenge The Pilgrim Academy Pioneers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. King's Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
While King's Christian's victory against The Christian Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Knights sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over The Christian Academy on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with The Christian Academy: they've now won six in a row.

Bridet Levandoski made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lillian Logan, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 23 runs the game before, The Pilgrim Academy was a bit more limited in their contest last Tuesday. They came up short against Gloucester County Christian, falling 10-2. Pioneers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Conquerors since last Tuesday.
Moriah Parmer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Andrea German was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI.
King's Christian pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for The Pilgrim Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
The Pilgrim Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. King's Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for The Pilgrim Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 2.4 strikeouts. Will King's Christian keep running through batters, or will the Pioneers buck the trend?
King's Christian took their win against The Pilgrim Academy in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 13-3 score. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Pioneers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
