Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in high school basketball. The tradition continues to close out the 2024-25 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.
For the season, Sancomb averaged 25.8 points, 10.3 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 2.6 steals per contest. He shot 83.9 percent from the free throw line.
In a 59-40 victory over Williamstown in the state final, Sancomb led the way with 26 points, 15 rebounds and six assists en route to tournament Most Outstanding Player honors.
Sancomb has received his first Division I offers from Drexel and Marshall over the past week.
Each state's MaxPreps Player of the Year will be considered for inclusion in the MaxPreps All-America Team, which is scheduled to be released April 8.
