NORTH HAVEN, Conn. -
Darien (Conn.) snapped the five-game winning streak of
North Haven (Conn.), with a 36-27 victory on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Nicholas Lombardo touchdown run in the second quarter, the Blue Wave were up 22-20 at the half.
Darien expanded its lead to nine points entering the fourth quarter. DHS scored once in the quarter on a
Silas Wyper touchdown pass to
Myles Ridder.
With the win the Blue Wave extended their winning streak to six games. Darien defeated Harding 47-23 last week.
The Indians came in giving up 17.7 points per game this season. North Haven had a hard time against Darien's offense, which entered the game scoring 38.4 points per game.
The defeat comes as a step back for North Haven, which notched a 28-14 victory over Foran in its previous outing.
