The Oak Ridge War Eagles entered their tilt with the Conroe Tigers with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Oak Ridge managed a 33-27 victory over Conroe on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Oak Ridge, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Oak Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chioma (treasure) Emeh, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds and four steals. Emeh has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Taylor Jones was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Conroe's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alisa Sneed, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Sneed hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Gross, who scored four points along with two blocks.
Oak Ridge's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-10. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.2 points per game. As for Conroe, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-14.
Oak Ridge will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Grand Oaks at 5:00 p.m. Grand Oaks will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Conroe, they will head out on the road to challenge New Caney at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
