The Rocky Mountain Lobos scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 82-18 victory over Brighton on the road. That looming 82-18 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Rocky Mountain yet this season.
Sara Chicco was her usual excellent self, scoring 29 points along with four steals. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Meela Delap, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Rocky Mountain pushed their record up to 10-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.6 points per game. As for Brighton, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rocky Mountain won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Boulder at 11:30 a.m. on January 20th. Boulder is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Brighton, they will head out on the road to take on Poudre at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Poudre focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Saturday.
