Even though the Monsignor McClancy Crusaders scored an imposing 59 points on Wednesday, the Fordham Prep Rams still came out on top. Fordham Prep walked away with a 66-59 win over Monsignor McClancy. Given Fordham Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Monsignor McClancy is ranked 335th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fordham Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ryan Jackson, who scored 22 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Those five rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Matthew Kapfer was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Fordham Prep pushed their record up to 11-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Monsignor McClancy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fordham Prep will take on Salesian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Salesian is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Monsignor McClancy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against St. Edmund Prep at 7:30 p.m. St. Edmund Prep has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
