The Unioto Shermans had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They breezed by Miami Trace on the road to the tune of 75-32. That's another feather in the cap for Unioto, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Unioto found their leader in underclassman Milee Smith, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Amaris Betts, who scored 10 points along with 6 assists and 3 steals.
Unioto's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Miami Trace, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Unioto will take on Wayne at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. Hopefully Wayne focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday. As for Miami Trace, they will be playing at home against Waverly at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
