Oak Hill Academy made the biggest jump in the standings this week, moving from third to first place in MAIS AA District 2 thanks to a 1-0 record over the past seven days. Meanwhile,
Canton Academy fell hardest in the standings, dropping from second all the way to fourth place after going 1-1 in the past week.
Top honors in the league this week go to
Leake Academy, which finished with two wins overall, good for best in the league. The Rebels beat
Newton County Academy 13-3 and
East Rankin Academy 4-3.
The Panthers' pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 11 hits and six walks to lead the league in both categories.
Three batters hit over .400 this week. The group was paced by Cole Goza, who collected four hits in five at bats for a .800 average.
Zach Ladner drove in four runners on Saturday in Canton Academy's 11-1 victory over
Canton. He went 2-for-2 and scored three runs.
