It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Hebbronville had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the San Diego Vaqueros. The Longhorns might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by nine runs or more this season.
Eduardo Trevino made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
In other batting news, Keyan Ramirez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chase Moore, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.
Hebbronville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as San Diego only managed six hits.
The win (which was Hebbronville's fourth in a row) raised their record to 22-10-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for San Diego, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-13-1.
As of now, neither Hebbronville nor the Vaqueros have any future games scheduled.
