The Northside - Jacksonville Monarchs''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Jacksonville, falling 52-14. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Northside - Jacksonville in their matchups with Jacksonville: they've now lost four in a row.
Although Northside - Jacksonville took the loss, they still got scores from Jamari Ridges and Anthony Cooper.
Demon June was a one-man wrecking crew for Jacksonville as he rushed for 180 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries, and also picked up 39 receiving yards. June hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Rahiem Rainey, who rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown.
Northside - Jacksonville's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 10-0 Havelock and 9-1 White Oak (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 77.2% over those games). As for Jacksonville, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
Northside - Jacksonville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Jacksonville will be playing at home against C.B. Aycock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. C.B. Aycock will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 141st, while Jacksonville is ranked 38th).
