The Chester Clippers will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Northeast Vikings at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Chester will be strutting in after a win while Northeast will be coming in after a loss.
Chester is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Penn Wood on Tuesday as they made off with a 13-4 victory. The Clippers haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Juan Martinez made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Jacoby Roman was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. Roman is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Israel Figueroa was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Chester always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Northeast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Frankford.
Eliezer Garcia-Guzman was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
The victory got Chester back to even at 2-2. As for Northeast, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
Chester might still be hurting after the 15-0 defeat they got from Northeast in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Clippers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
