The Hayden Tigers can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 58-14 victory over Sargent at home. The victory was just what Hayden needed coming off of a 40-0 defeat in their prior match.
Hayden's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Grady Frentress led the charge by rushing for 177 yards and four touchdowns on only eight carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Cambell, who rushed for 124 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries.
Hayden's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. The heavy lifting was done by Jd Case and Adrian Drew who racked up four sacks between them.
Hayden's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Sargent, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hayden will face off against Soroco at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Soroco is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak. As for Sargent, they will head out on the road to face off against Dove Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dove Creek presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sargent in Colorado (Dove Creek is ranked ninth, while Sargent is ranked 46th).
