Basketball Recap: Jaxon Jenson Key Part of a Team Effort in Utes Win

There's no place like home for Uintah, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They walked away with a 60-52 victory over the Grand Junction Tigers on Saturday. The Utes have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

Uintah's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaxon Jenson led the charge by going 8 of 16 on his way to 18 points and four steals. That's the most points Jenson has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Dauson Gardiner, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Will Weirath, who went 5 for 8 en route to 12 points. Grant Lewis was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Uintah's record now sits at 13-7. As for Grand Junction, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.

Uintah has already played their next game (against Layton Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Grand Junction will look to defend their home court on Friday against Montrose at 7:00 p.m.
