Basketball Recap: Trinity Christian Comes Up Short

Trinity Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-55 heartbreaker at the hands of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. One positive for the Warriors, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Austin Porta, who went 6 for 11 en route to 15 points. Another player making a difference was Parker Hopkins, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Trinity Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Trinity Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Notre Dame, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season.

Trinity Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 67-63 win against Edison on the 25th. As for Notre Dame, they are taking a road trip to challenge South Harrison at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
