Omaha Northwest hasn't had much luck against Millard South recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Omaha Northwest Huskies and the Millard South Patriots will meet in a classic North v. South matchup at 7:00 p.m.
Omaha Northwest came up short against Omaha Central on Friday, falling 63-43. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while the Eagles are ranked 79th).

Omaha Northwest's loss came about despite a quality game from DaWayne Kearney, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 15 points. Kearney continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Michael Dubose, who posted nine points and five blocks.
Meanwhile, Millard South didn't have too much trouble with Norfolk on Friday as they won 72-54. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Millard South's win came from a few key players Omaha Northwest will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Koby Meyers, who went 7 for 10 to rack up 17 points and five boards. The game was his third in a row with at least 17 points. Carter Margheim was another key player, putting up eight points along with five assists and five steals.
Millard South smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January of 2024.
This is the second loss in a row for Omaha Northwest and nudges their season record down to 3-14. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.5 points over those games. As for Millard South, their victory bumped their record up to 14-7.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Omaha Northwest has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 26.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Millard South struggles in that department as they've been averaging 34.3 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
