Having just played yesterday, the Milford Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Harrison Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on December 20th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard on Wednesday.
Milford scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 78-59 win over Western Brown. Given Milford's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 250th, while Western Brown is ranked 555th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Milford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ben Vollman, who scored 12 points along with five assists and three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jay Brossart, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, Harrison had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Monroe and snuck past 55-53.
The victory makes it two in a row for Milford and bumps their season record up to 4-2. As for Harrison, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Milford strolled past Harrison in their previous meeting back in February by a score of 65-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Milford since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
