After a string of seven wins, the Lecanto Panthers's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 79-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fort White. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Lecanto's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Braylen Moore, who scored 26 points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Jt Tipton who scored 15 points along with nine assists and five rebounds. The game was Tipton's 13th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tez Joseph, who scored nine points.
Lecanto's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Fort White, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lecanto and South Sumter will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Fort White and Bradford will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 4th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Bradford will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 558th, while Fort White is ranked 118th).
