Baseball Game Preview: Bear Creek Bruins vs. Stagg Delta Kings

For the second straight game, Bear Creek will face off against Stagg. The Bruins are taking a road trip to face off against the Delta Kings at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.

While Bear Creek's win against Stagg wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bruins won by a run and slipped past the Delta Kings 8-7. The Bruins haven't had any issues with the Delta Kings recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Kevin Johnson made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Johnson was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Bear Creek's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-11 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Ryan McLaughlin was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Tyler Gilbert, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

The win got Bear Creek back to even at 11-11. As for Stagg, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.
