After both having extra time off, the Crowley County Chargers and the Holly Wildcats will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with five losses in a row, Crowley County turned things around against Walsenburg on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Panthers.
Crowley County had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-20, 25-12, 25-20.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Holly, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Wiley on Tuesday, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since October 11, 2024.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Holly got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 22-25, 27-25, 16-25, 15-9.
Holly's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Crowley County, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 5-7.
Crowley County beat Holly 3-1 when the teams last played on September 4th. Will the Chargers repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
