Apex Friendship had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victor by  a  14-3 margin over the Seaforth Hawks. The  victory continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now won three in a row.
 Sydney Joyce was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She  struck out nine batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   six  hits. Joyce was also stellar in the batter's box,  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances with three  runs, one  triple,  and one  RBI.

 In other batting news,  Kaylee Marquis and  Cheyenne Christman did most of the damage at the plate:  Marquis  scored three  runs while going 3-for-3, while  Christman  went 2-for-4 with three  runs, four  RBI,  and one  double. Those  three  runs gave  Marquis a new career-high.  Hannah Parker was another key player,  going 3-for-4 with three  RBI and one  double.
 Looking ahead, Apex Friendship will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Corinth Holders  at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Seaforth, they will venture away from home to  take on Graham  at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. Seaforth is coming into the  match on  a  five-game losing streak dating back to last season.
