The Mars Fightin' Planets pushed their score all the way to 58 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 67-58 to Knoch. While losing is never fun, Mars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 167th, while Knoch is ranked 47th).
Mars lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ryan Ceh, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds. The contest was Ceh's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Drew Navetta, who scored 15 points.
Mars' loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Knoch, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Mars will be home for the holidays to greet Kiski Area at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Kiski Area has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 301 points over their last five matches. As for Knoch, they will head out on the road to face off against Chartiers Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
