The North Callaway Thunderbirds's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They suffered a tough 75-52 loss at the hands of Clopton. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for North Callaway in their matchups with Clopton: they've now lost eight in a row.
Loss or not, North Callaway got some senior leadership from Sam Pezold and Isiah Craighead. Pezold scored 16 points along with six rebounds and five steals, while Craighead. scored ten points along with two steals. Craighead hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Paul Russell, who scored seven points.
North Callaway bumped their record down to 3-12 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Clopton, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
North Callaway will square off against Bowling Green at 6:50 p.m. on Tuesday. Bowling Green and North Callaway are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. Clopton will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Louisiana at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th.
