Kelliher/Northome's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kate Thayer, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. Thayer is crushing the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. Ella Thayer was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Red Lake's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lilia Pemberton, who scored 16 points along with two steals. Pemberton is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
The win makes it two in a row for Kelliher/Northome and bumps their season record up to 12-2. As for Red Lake, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
Kelliher/Northome will head out on the road to square off against the Drakes at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Blackduck will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while the Mustangs are ranked 82nd). As for Red Lake, they will take on the Bears at TBD on Thursday. Clearbrook-Gonvick is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
