Basketball Recap: Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Century came into Monday's match looking for another win against Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton, but Ashlyn Stayton wouldn't allow it. Everything went Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton's way against the Century Centurions on Monday as Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton made off with a 60-35 victory thanks in part to Stayton, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Century's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaylee Vanmeter, who posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Nevaeh Mackins, who had ten points.

Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-6. As for Century, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 3-6.

As for Century, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 45-27 loss against Murphysboro on the 17th.
