Softball Recap: Fredonia Makes It Three in a Row on the Road

Fredonia owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-0 win over the Dunkirk Marauders. That's two games straight that the Hillbillies have won by exactly three runs.

Danielle Palisin made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 6 strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double was her first of the season.

Palisin wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Naomi Muck, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base marked the first that Muck has snagged this season.

Fredonia's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Dunkirk, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Fredonia will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Southwestern at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.1 runs per game on average), something the Hillbillies will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Dunkirk, they will challenge Jamestown at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
