The Thrasher Rebels will venture away from home to face off against the Wheeler Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Thrasher is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.
Falkner hit Thrasher with a four-run fourth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rebels fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 7-6. The Rebels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Delancy Sartain and Valerie Hester stepped up to the plate in a big way. Sartain went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Hester went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run. Sartain is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Carlee Grisham was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Wheeler came out on top against Pine Grove on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run second inning. The Eagles walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Panthers. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly three runs.
Marli Kate Shockley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up ten Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Taylor Brooks, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That's the most hits she has posted over her last eight contests. Kinsley Williams also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Wheeler is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Thrasher, they now have a losing record of 3-4-1.
Thrasher's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's game. The Rebels have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Wheeler, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Thrasher continue to outrun the ball?
Thrasher might still be hurting after the 15-0 loss they got from Wheeler in their previous matchup on March 3rd. Can the Rebels avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
