Albion is on a five-game streak of home losses, Medina a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Albion Purple Eagles will take on the Medina Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Back in January, Albion suffered a tough 55-34 defeat at the hands of Newfane. While losing is never fun, Albion can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 808th, while Newfane is ranked 177th).
Meanwhile, Medina had to suffer through a rough 80-44 loss at the hands of Newfane. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Medina in their matchups with Newfane: they've now lost five in a row.
Albion's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Medina, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
Albion came up short against Medina in their previous meeting back in January, falling 64-55. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Medina's Jerrell Nealy, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds.
