Basketball Recap: Miller's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Miller strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 57-52 W against the La Feria Lions. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Buccaneers also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Miller was led to victory by Charles Perry Jr and Izaiah Gidrey. Perry Jr dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 assists, while Gidrey shot 67% from the field en route to 20 points. Those 67% shooting accuracy gave Gidrey a new career-high. Brandon Smith was another key player, putting up eight points.

Miller's record now sits at 4-0. As for La Feria, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Miller will challenge Bishop at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Buccaneers will be up against the Badgers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 78.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for La Feria, they will square off against Santa Maria at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
