The Clarion-Limestone Lions will face off against the Cranberry Area Berries at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Clarion-Limestone will be strutting in after a victory while Cranberry Area will be coming in after a loss.
If Clarion-Limestone beats Cranberry Area with ten runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. The Lions didn't even let North Clarion on the board on Monday, marking the Lions' second-straight 10-0 shutout. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Kohen Kemmer made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Clarion-Limestone is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-7 otherwise. Kemmer was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Aiden Coulson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Lucian Sloan was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
Clarion-Limestone was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Cranberry Area suffered their closest defeat since April 11th on Monday. They fell just short of Franklin by a score of 11-9. The Berries have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Blake Marchinke was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base.
In other batting news, Lincoln Galla made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Landon Burgdorfer, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
Clarion-Limestone's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Cranberry Area, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Clarion-Limestone has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Cranberry Area struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Clarion-Limestone's way against Cranberry Area in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Clarion-Limestone made off with a 13-1 win. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Berries have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
