The Calhoun Sandcrabs won the last time they faced the Rockport-Fulton Pirates, and things went their way on Friday too. Calhoun breezed by Rockport-Fulton on the road to the tune of 56-14. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-7.
Calhoun can attribute much of their success to Darrik Salinas, who rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Holton Hadley and his 93 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Calhoun's victory.
Calhoun has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for Rockport-Fulton, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
Calhoun will look to defend their home field on Friday against Floresville at 7:00 p.m. Floresville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 808th, while Calhoun is ranked 399th). As for Rockport-Fulton, they will head out on the road to face off against La Vernia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. La Vernia is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
