Arlington hasn't had much luck against North Rockland recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Admirals will host the Raiders at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Arlington's win against John Jay wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Admirals had just enough and edged out the Patriots 6-5 on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Admirals as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
The team relied heavily on Sam Laffin, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Julieanna Lopez, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, North Rockland took care of business in their home opener (and then some) last Monday. Everything went their way against Arlington as they made off with a 14-1 win. The Raiders have beaten the Admirals the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Admirals has come to flipping the script.
Tara Murphy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Murphy was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, North Rockland got a massive performance out of Emily Murphy, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits Murphy has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Kerry Finnerty, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
North Rockland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arlington only posted an OBP of .158.
The victory got Arlington back to even at 4-4. As for North Rockland, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
