Amelia County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 67-64 heartbreaker at the hands of the Carver College and Career Academy Wolverines. One positive for the Raiders, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Amelia County's loss came despite strong showings from JAQUAN PEGRAM and MARQUAN ROYAL. PEGRAM posted 19 points in addition to seven steals and five assists, while ROYAL earned 22 points along with six boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave PEGRAM a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was DAWSON DUNNAVANT, who put up 15 points.

Amelia County's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Carver College and Career Academy, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-12.

Amelia County has already played their next game, an 86-52 defeat against Buckingham on the 4th. As for Carver College and Career Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-25 loss against King & Queen Central on the 4th.
