Tupelo Christian Prep has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Vardaman Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Tupelo Christian Prep had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past Coffeeville 56-6 at home.
Jon Scott was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 69 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Another big playmaker for Tupelo Christian Prep was Brewer Bailey, who returned a punt for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Vardaman put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Byers at home to the tune of 50-12.
Tupelo Christian Prep's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.3 points per game. As for Vardaman, their victory bumped their record up to 10-0.
Everything came up roses for Tupelo Christian Prep against Vardaman when the teams last played back in October of 2020 as the squad secured a 63-14 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tupelo Christian Prep since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
