Softball Recap: Singer Has No Trouble Against Lake Charles College Prep

Singer made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Lake Charles College Prep, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Hornets were the clear victors by a 25-7 margin over the Trailblazers on Friday. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by eight runs or more this season.

Hanna Johnson was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and six RBI. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in runs (four). Another player making a difference was Breeanna Mitchell, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI.

Singer always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .767. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Singer's win bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Lake Charles College Prep, they dropped their record down to 0-15-1 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Singer will face off against Simpson at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lake Charles College Prep, they will square off against Westgate at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
