Viera is a perfect 9-0 against Harmony since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Hawks will square off against the Longhorns at 6:00 p.m. Viera is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
Eau Gallie hit Viera with a eight-run sixth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Hawks lost 18-3 to the Commodores. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Hawks have suffered against the Commodores since February 22, 2022.
Viera saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Rider, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Harmony came out on top against Tohopekaliga on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run seventh inning. The Longhorns blew past the Tigers 12-3. The Longhorns might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by seven runs or more this season.
Hailey Baker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.
On the hitting side, Harmony let Emerson Aslan and Nicole Yi run wild. Aslan got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI, while Yi went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits Yi has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Leah Ortiz, who went 2-for-5 with two RBI and one run.
Harmony kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Harmony's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-11. As for Viera, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-9.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Viera hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Harmony struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Everything went Viera's way against Harmony when the teams last played back in May of 2022, as Viera made off with a 9-0 victory. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Longhorns turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
